8 Tips to Motivate People who Hate Exercising

Our last blog was about the top ten excuses that people use to not exercise…this blog is to give you tips to help motivate you if you really dislike working-out! Here at Hell Camp, we offer these tips to help people when they are struggling to start exercising. These tips will help you get into the swing of things because we all know that starting is the hardest part. It’s time for you to get up and kick some ass!

Here's some motivation:

  1. If you want to work-out in the morning, wear your exercise clothes to bed. As funny as that sounds, a lot of trainers swear by this tip! It’s less to do when you get up and you have no excuse for getting ready!
  2. While exercising, also do something you enjoy…like listening to music or watching tv. Keep yourself distracted and exercising will slowly become easier for you.
  3. Move your alarm clock across the room if you need to get up to exercise. This will help you with your snooze button problem!
  4. Only do what your body can handle! Don’t overexert yourself or hurt yourself because that won’t help your motivation when you need to exercise again.
  5. Don’t forget to use the buddy system. Have a friend that will exercise with you or have them remind you to exercise by calling or texting you! This leaves you obligated to actually exercise!
  6. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Give yourself a positive pep talk right before exercising and don’t be a Negative Nancy!
  7. Set goals and give yourself rewards. Do you want a bowl of ice cream? Or a new tattoo? A new dress? Give yourself goals and when you reach that goal give yourself something to look forward to as a reward.
  8. Just start exercising and don’t give up. Even walking is better than nothing. Start off small and build yourself up. NEVER GIVE UP…REACH YOUR GOALS AND SUCCEED.
